Most Zelda releases work as standalone starting points. Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past remain excellent entry routes for classic players, while Breath of the Wild is the broadest modern starting point.
They are usually more thoughtful than punishing. The challenge often comes from puzzle-solving, dungeon flow, and exploration rather than from relentless combat pressure.
A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker remain core collector favourites. Original packaging and special editions tend to carry the biggest premiums.
